Warren Report 10.30.14

From Lauren Morelli (BFA  08)  “I am now in Atlanta working as the Assistant Costume Designer for Red Band Society. This is my first network show as a designer, so I'm very excited! And I get to work with the lovely Iran Kuykendall (BFA 08) What a gift!” From Dadrian Flavors (MFA 10)  “I'm fortunate to be joining the VFX crew for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales as Digital Asset Manager. We begin shooting in a few weeks in Australia until July, and then begin post back in the states.” You are cordially invited to attend a screening of the film Paradox (a Stevo Chang/Fran Ervin (both MFA 04) film) at 20th Century Fox on Monday, November 3rd 7:30pm--enter via the main gate on pico and motor. From Jason Piccolo (BFA 97)  “I've recently updated my website and production reel.  The past several years I've been producing and directing and shooting.  I can get myself anywhere to work. My rate is flexible per the budget and corny sense of humor comes free of charge. You all know me and I hope that over the years I have proven myself to be a reliable teammate and a valuable, collaborative, and creative partner.  Please stop by the site, peruse the reel, the work, and (if I can ask you this favor) help me get the word out. I would love to work with and for any and all of you. The site; www.SomewhereInUtah.comThe direct path to the reel;www.SomewhereInUtah.com/reel/ Hello alumni and friends!!! My name is Melisse Sporn. I'm about to graduate December 13th from the BFA production program. I'm getting ready to hopefully find work in Los Angeles, California, but before I dive in I really want to travel and I'm LOOKING FOR A TRAVEL BUDDY, someone to come with me on an adventure!!! I'm thinking it would be for roughly a month in January to February to Europe, Asia, or Scandinavia but I'm super flexible. I've been researching super cheap flights, hostels, the works. If you're interested in having awesome real world experience and taking the trip of a lifetime while not breaking the bank, you can send me a email me at mcs10@my.fsu.edu. Tallahassee:  The department of Visual Arts, Theater, and Dance would like to extend an invitation to the Film Department's faculty and students to attend our visiting artist presentation.  Kerry Tribe’s large scale projects in film, video, and installation investigate the relationships between consciousness and the moving image.   The presentation will be held on Thursday, November 13 at 7 PM, Room 249 in the Fine Arts Building. I’ve had a great response to the email I sent out this week which I’ll repeat here in case you didn’t receive it.   Definitely enough early response to start an Alumni Art Gallery in my office, but I’d love to have more.  Here’s my plea:  So now I have a new office with beautifully painted blank walls, except for my collage of alumni pictures.    I notice on facebook that many of you are doing hangable art—pictures, photographs, etc, and I’d like to make my office walls a little alumni gallery.   I have my first piece, a wonderful painting by Heather Konkoli (BFA 97).  Do you have anything that you’d be willing to share?  We can negotiate some on framing/price/shipping since this will be at my expense, not the film school’s!  If you have something you’d want to send me, I’d like the title of the piece (will make little museum-like cards for each piece) which would include the picture name, your name, class and year.  Who knows, maybe my office can become a stop on film school orientation tours!   If you are interested in sending something, even if it might be a while before you actually send it, please let me know.   If there is no interest in this then I’ll fill my walls with your film posters!   Email me at merylwarren@gmail.comLooking for Social Media Interns  Calling all social media protégés: If you were born with a hashtag in your hand and a  @ in front of your name on your birth certificate, if you know more about social media than we ever will, we want to meet you! We are a Casting, Talent, and Development house that develops content, produces sizzle reels, and services the talent needs of our long client list. We are on the search for a hungry and eager social media intern to help expand our social media footprint.  This position will be all about keeping the company up to speed on what is happening in social-media-land. You will work collaboratively with our executive team to increase Metal Flowers Media exposure across all of our social media platforms, and those we don’t know about yet.  A successful person in this role will be an out-of-the-box thinker who can 1) confidently offer creative suggestions to expand our presence on the inter-webs, 2) aggressively seek out and propose cutting edge strategies, 3) analyze and determine current trends, 4) monitor emerging trends, 5) place our finger right next to yours: on the pulse of social media, digital marketing, social/digital trends.
