Warren Report 3.27.5

From Aaron Moorhead (BFA 08)  “The film I co-directed, SPRING, just came out in theaters and online. It's a supernatural love story, shot in Italy -- honestly a great date movie. To check my humility at the door in the service of promoting the film, it's got a 92% on Rottentomatoes, and Richard Linklater (director of the Before trilogy and Boyhood) called it “A beautiful and unique love story…a real accomplishment of genre and tone.”  It's currently at #1 in horror on iTunes, and #2 in romance. You can see it in theaters or pretty much any way movies are available to buy (iTunes, Amazon, Vudu etc).   Look, this might sound like the film is bigger than it is. It's still a tiny film, bootstrapped by the two of us, distributed by a relatively small company. We NEED all the grassroots support (FSU and elsewhere) we can get. Take a look at the film, and if you enjoy it, the best thing you can do for the film is to talk about it, tweet about it, generally make some noise. Dead serious, that's the only way this film keeps going. Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zpThOBiPxM

See some of them here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JbQBLTR3UQ From Max Valverde Soto (MFA  05)  “Just wanted to let u know that last July I was appointed as the Director of the Film Center of the Ministry of Culture of Costa Rica.  This is the first time I´m in office and so far so good:  we have managed to create a film support fund in very little time.  Many other projects to follow.  Meanwhile, my last short Absence has been going around in Festivals.  It was recently bought by United Airlines to screen on their flights, as well as by SVT, the biggest TV station in Sweden. I am hoping for additional sales in the months to come. “Lindsay Hartmann, Film School Director of Development will be in Baltimore, MD next week attending the annual International Fundraising Conference. From Tim Driscoll (BFA 05)  “Hello, my debut feature film, 'The Lengths' will be screening for one week at the Sun-ray Cinema in Jacksonville, FL. 'The Lengths', was filmed throughout North Florida, Louisiana, Texas and New Mexico. Half of our budget was raised via Kickstarter and showcases the talents of a number FSU Film alums. Austin Smoak (BFA 2005) served as directory of photography,  as producer and first assistant director, Niraj Trivedi (BFA 2006) as producer and a bunch of other roles, Carrie Hunter (BFA 2009) co-producer. We filmed across six states with three cast members, eight crew member and in twenty-eight days.  The Lengths made it's festival debut at the Blue Whiskey Independent Film Festival in Chicago and then went on to win the Indie Spirit Award at the New Hope Film Festival. It's a lot of fun. I'm already working on commercials, many of which will air on television or online. Very excited to have the job and I'm learning a lot about television.
