The award was given for her work directing Know More, a short film about the role that bystander intervention can play in reducing sexual assaults. Her film has played widely across campus and is now being used as part of the Undergraduate Orientation at FSU. This award serves not only as an acknowledgement of Jamie’s hard work, but also as a salute to all filmmakers. It represents the greater university community recognizing the power of cinema to affect meaningful change in the world. After weighing the pros and cons, it was an easy decision and I took the plunge! I’m finally in the same place as my partner, and have more time to write now than I ever did in LA!
